We are very proud to announce that BCSI has been awarded the 2012 Business Partner of the Year by the California State Legislature and California State Senate.

We are so proud to share this achievement with you, and to send you our deepest thank you for helping us to make this possible. Our relationships with people like you are what make us get out of bed in the morning and stay up until 4am fighting with stubborn tech problems. This achievement is not BCSI’s to celebrate, but ours together.

We want to especially thank Kids Come First for this nomination, and for their continued friendship. We are humbled to be considered for such an achievement, and cannot express our gratitude for the relationship we have with our clients.

We are proud to announce BCSI Help Desk for iOS!

We have developed a very cool little app that allows for our end users to submit Help Desk tickets from their iPhone.  This empowers those traveling salespeople, busy CEOs or the occasional end-user with access to our Technicians from anywhere. Furthermore, this app allows you to see your previous tickets, our recent news, and quick access to call us.

As an added feature, we can use this app to receive your GPS coordinates (with your permission) so that we can dispatch a technician to your location if you happen to be away from your desk, or at your favorite Starbucks.

We are still waiting for Apple’s final approval of the app, along with some internal logistics before the App becomes available, but our goal is to have the app released in 30 days.  As with all of our goodies, the app will be free to all our clients.

Today we are proud to announce an update to our Help Desk.

We have developed a small application that provides for one-click access to our Help Desk. End users can now save their preferences, upload files, take a screen shot of their screen and send their tickets to us without ever opening a web browser. This enables us to provide easier access to end users, or on computers where web browser access is restricted.

After a year of research, preparation and grant-writing, OPARC and BCSI have finally begun working together on the “OPARC Speech Pathology CCAF iPad2 Project.”  This project is an extraordinary effort to use iPads to help people who have disabilities communicate beyond traditional non-high-tech therapy.  During the course of this project, all participants are given an iPad.  We customize these iPads so participants can use programs like Proloque2Go, Tap2Talk and Verbal Victor.  Likewise, we include games, personal pictures and emergency information into each iPad tailored for its user.

Our goal in this project is to help people who are dependent on others to communicate for themselves and live more independent lives.  There are many obstacles to overcome, but all the dedicated staff members at OPARC are indefatigable and put in the time required to make a project like this grow.  They are doing great work – and we strongly recommend you consider donating toward their mission.

We wish to thank CCAF for its generous donation that made this project possible, and OPARC and its visionary leadership and heartfelt dedication to truly making people with disabilities live better lives.  Both these organizations deserve praise, and they are making this world a much better place.

BCSI’s new website is now live, as is the new purely web-based help desk.  (I know many of you prefer the application-based Help Desk – Don’t worry, were not getting rid of it.) Our new site is built off the award-winning WordPress CMS Engine, which gives us unparalleled control over our content, but also over your security.  Soon we will be rolling out our promised HTTPS version for secure payment processing (another highly requested feature) and will be supported by Authorize.net.
